WINNIPEG – Police have made an arrest and recovered one of two bicycles stolen during a charity ride pit stop in Winnipeg.
The two bikes, worth about $15,000, were swiped last month when Val Duquenne and Thomas Clark were doing a media interview about their cross-country trek to raise awareness for men’s mental health.
Police say the one bike was found on Aug. 7 and traced to a suspect.
A 42-year-old man was arrested Sunday, and charged with theft and trafficking stolen property.
Some Winnipeg businesses fundraised to cover the costs of new bikes for the two cyclists.
Duquenne and Clark completed their trek earlier this month in Victoria.
