A woman and a teenage girl who were riding a snowmobile, and the teen they were towing on a sled, escaped serious injury when they hit an SUV this weekend.
Virden RCMP Const. Paul Morissette said the collision happened in Napinka, about 83 kilometres southwest of Brandon, around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday.
A 22-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were riding a snowmobile, which was towing a 15-year-old girl on a sled.
The machine was heading west on a street and hit the side of the southbound SUV at an uncontrolled intersection.
The woman and girl on the snowmobile received minor injuries and were taken to Melita hospital where they were treated and released.
The girl who was being towed wasn’t injured, nor were the woman and the boy who were in the SUV.
Morissette said it’s illegal to drive a snowmobile along a roadway and charges may be pending against the driver of the snowmobile.
