When Jess Hill comes to Brandon this Saturday, she’ll be performing an intimate show and giving a songwriting workshop at The Roost — and this is your opportunity to win two free tickets.
Thanks to support from The Musebox, the Brandon Sun has a free guest list spot — plus a "plus one" — to give away, which will come with an autographed copy of Hill’s new CD, "Orchard," and a copy of the tour poster.
All you have to do is leave a comment below, share a link to this story on Facebook, or retweet us here. Contest closes Friday at 4 p.m.
Hill’s concert, hosted by the Brandon Folk, Music and Art Festival, will also feature Festival favourite Jeff Andrew, and will be held Saturday, April 9, at The Roost, which is located at 19 Ninth Street, in downtown Brandon. The concert starts at 8 pm.
Earlier in the day, bring your instruments to a songwriting workshop, featuring Hill, Andrew and also Ben Sures, from noon until 2 p.m. Email brandonfolkfestival@gmail.com for more information about the workshop.
Singer/songwriter Hill has been described as having "an incredible ‘Tom Waits/Regina Spektor lovechild’ sound" and is garnering fantastic reviews for both the album and her live performance.
"Orchard," the sophomore album from the Vancouver artist, was released March 24 and features more complex arrangments that deepen her folk simplicity.
