RCMP say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a crash that killed a 29-year-old Manitoba man early this morning.
Emergency workers were called to the crash about eight kilometres west of Brandon on Grand Valley Road at 2:43 a.m. today.
Brandon RCMP Staff Sgt. Mike Zens said the driver of a westbound 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck lost control on an S-curve about five miles west of Brandon. The truck rolled into the ditch with five people inside, police say..
One man, not the driver, died at the scene and all four remaining occupants, including a 16-year-old, were sent to hospital. They are said to be in stable condition.
No charges have been laid yet as police continue to investigate. The name of the deceased hasn’t been released as police work to reach next of kin.
