Brandon folk-rock duo Misty Street has released its first independent video on YouTube. This is a key step forward for the busy pair.
“Greg and I received a Factor Grant in 2009 after submitting our song ‘Sweet,’” lead vocalist Mariah Phillips said. “We continued on in the studio and recorded our first 11-song CD that sold quite well in the Brandon area.
“We were very busy with music and decided to take this past year off to regroup, though we still did community-based events.”

Phillips said that recently, there was a fresh interest in their music locally — in particular, their song titled “Lost.”
“Under the guidance of producer/director Graham Street, we decided to film our first video for that song. We are really excited that people are enjoying our music and wanting to hear more from us,” said Phillips, who shares song-writing and lead vocalist duties with musical partner Greg Gibson
Phillips and Gibson have been writing and performing original material together since 2007.
This new foray into video is one they felt was necessary to move their work forward and make it more readily available to listeners.
“We were thrilled to take advantage of Brandon’s rich architectural history as we filmed the video in the historic McKenzie Seeds Building,” Gibson said.
The video for “Lost” can be seen on YouTube under their MistyStreetMusic Channel or through their website at www.mistystreet.com.
