The Winnipeg Saints of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League will relocate to Virden for the upcoming 2012/13 season.
The purchase of the team by Virden Hockey Ventures Inc. was officially announced Wednesday morning at the new Virden and Area Recreation Facility.
"Westman is a thriving, hockey loving area that is ready to be host to a Jr. A team and we are thrilled to have made this a reality," said Dale Lewis, president of Virden Hockey Ventures.
Troy Leslie, former coach of AAA Midget Southwest Cougars, has been named head coach of Virden’s team.
