A Brandon man faces charges after it’s alleged he assaulted a woman a week after assaulting her before.

Police were called to a disurbance in the 1500-block of Third Street at about 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived, they found that victim had allegedly been assaulted during some kind of altercation, but the suspect had already left.

They say the man was under a court order to stay away from the woman, after a previous reported assault from a week earlier.

After a warrant was issued for his arrest, the man turned himself in to police the next afternoon.

A 26-year-old Brandon man was to appear in court this morning on charges of assault and breach of an undertaking.
