A man who put on an unwanted “strip” show for a mentally challenged woman has been fined for his display.
An ex-girlfriend told police that the offender tended to get a little “crazy” when he drinks.
“She describes him as strip dancing, which he does frequently,” Crown attorney Grant Hughes told court.
Christopher Lee Pentecost pleaded guilty this week to performing an indecent act.
Court heard that on Feb. 18, Pentecost was at a gathering at a Deloraine home when he pulled down his pants and exposed his penis.
After pulling ups his pants, he began to rock back and forth on the knee of a mentally challenged woman, despite her protests.
The display ended when another woman hit Pentecost with a fly swatter.
Hughes said that one witness believed that Pentecost, who’d been drinking, had removed his pants in an effort to “turn on the ladies.”
However, the witness said the women reacted by telling Pentecost to stop.
Another witness, a woman who lived at the home and had previously been in a relationship with him, said Pentecost can get “crazy” when he drinks and has been known to strip dance.
The mentally challenged woman’s worker made a report to police 10 days after the incident.
Defence lawyer Ryan Fawcett said that — while Pentecost’s actions were inappropriate — his client maintains he was fooling around and dancing.
Fawcett said the 37-year-old Pentecost’s young relative had recently been killed in a crash, and Pentecost was drinking and had taken medication at the time of his dance.
Judge Donovan Dvorak fined Pentecost $200 and put him on probation for a year.
