Brandon police were involved in a series of property seizures this morning that are related to a massive drug bust from October.

Officers from the RCMP and Manitoba Justice were also involved in the seizures.

Five properties were seized in Brandon, rural Brandon, Dauphin and Gilbert Plains. A total of 20 vehicles were also seized. A number of bank accounts related to suspects in the case were also seized.

Police say the seizures, coordinated by the provincial Criminal Property and Forfeiture Unit, are the result of a Brandon police investigation that saw multiple search warrants conducted and several drug related charges laid in October 2012.

In October, police reported that they had seized more than $2 million worth of illegal drugs after raids at three southern Manitoba properties.

The operation was the largest drug bust in Brandon Police Service history and targeted "high level" dealers.

Ecstasy, marijuana, cocaine and psilocybin were seized from three separate rural properties.

Hundreds of pounds of marijuana and several kilograms of cocaine, as well as at least a pound of Ecstasy were among the drugs seized, plus large amounts of money and numerous firearms.

Two men from Gilbert Plains were charged at the time, as was a man from Calgary, another man and a woman from the Kemnay area, and a rural Brandon woman.
