Hey there, time traveller!

A mainstay of rock radio from the 1980s will be coming to Wasagaming this summer to help Riding Mountain National Park celebrate its 80th anniversary.
Juno Award winners Glass Tiger will be headlining a free outdoor concert in the park on Saturday, Aug. 24.
The event promises to be a blast for people, whether they are reliving past glory days or just checking out the rocking style of their parents’ era.
The opening act will be Jess Moskaluke, a young up and coming singer-songwriter from Langenburg, Sask., who was named that province’s CMA 2013 Female Vocalist of the Year.
"Live entertainment and special events continue to be a park summer tradition," said Richard Dupuis the acting superintendent of Riding Mountain. "As we continue to work with our partners and bring new experiences to our visitors, Parks Canada’s goal is to offer outstanding experiences that connect people to our parks in new ways. Our visitors will be able to enjoy music in a casual concert setting and there is plenty of open space for them to set up their lawn chairs for an unobstructed view of the stage in Manitoba’s premier tourism destination.”
In addition to the concert, visitors will be able to take in various other activities throughout the day. The Wasagaming Chamber of Commerce will host the popular Boo in the Park, the annual warm-up for Halloween that gives the park’s youngest visitors a chance to go trick-or-treating and take part in several spooky activities.
This year visitors can experience the new Parks Canada Zone, an activity area that features many learning and entertaining activities for anyone curious about nature and conservation. There will also be an Otentik open house for those who have not yet seen the new addition to Wasagaming Campground.
The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 and is targeted to appeal to all ages. Regular park entry fees will apply for the weekend. For more information on activities and events, visit www.parkscanada.gc.ca/riding.
