Dauphin police found a man inside a store with a broken window when they arrived to check on an alarm.
Officers with the Dauphin municipal RCMP detachment were called to the ringing alarm at around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived at the Main Street North business, they discovered a broken window on the north side of the building.
They also spotted a man inside, who was arrested.
Darren James Brass, 42, from Shoal River First Nation, has been charged with break, enter and theft. He was kept in custody to appear in court in Dauphin on Monday.
