Shoppers Mall management says there is plenty of interest in a soon-to-be-closed Safeway.

Kim James, general manager of the mall, says that Safeway Canada has confirmed their intention to close the store sometime in the fall, but that the anchor location enjoys high traffic and is highly desired.

"We are currently fielding a number of inquiries by parties interested in leasing the space," James said.
