Brandon Sun subscribers — online and off — will have a dramatically better experience reading digital archives as of Monday.

The new e-Edition will feature a full version of each day’s newspaper, in digital format. Articles will be presented as they appear in the printed paper, but can be clicked on to read a full-text version with photos appended. Stories will seamlessly jump from one page to the next.

However, readers can also page through the digital version of the paper to see how articles are laid out and presented, and to see advertisements.

The Brandon Sun will launch a new e-Edition and associated smartphone app on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014.
The Brandon Sun will launch a new e-Edition and associated smartphone app on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014.

The e-Edition will be available with a link from the top-right corner of each page on brandonsun.com, which will read "e-Edition," right above the search box. It will go live mid-morning Monday.

E-editions will be archived for 30 days, and each day’s edition should be updated by 5 a.m.

Along with the digital version, the e-Edition will be available in app form for users of Android or Google smartphones, as well as for the Amazon Kindle. Although the iOS app is still awaiting approval, Android users can download their version now. The easiest way to find it is to search "Brandon Sun" in the appropriate app store.

Sun subscribers who have their email address on file will be able to log in to the e-Edition with it, using their email address as the password as well. They will then be able to set a new password.

Access to the brandonsun.com website will not change. For convenience, readers may want to use the same password for the e-Edition as well as for the website.

Brandon Sun print or online subscribers will have the new service included free. An online-only subscription is currently $9 per month. A print-plus-online subscription is about $15 per month when paid by the year.

To subscribe, or you have questions about the new e-Edition, call the Brandon Sun circulation department at 204-571-7425 or email circ@brandonsun.com.
