Mazergroup in Brandon will be adding a new dealership to the company on July 1.

The farm implements dealer based out of Brandon has just announced a merger with Southeast Farm Equipment, a New Holland dealership based out of Steinbach.

With this merger, Mazergroup will control all New Holland dealerships in the province.

“The industry, right or wrong, is going in this direction of multiplex organization where dealerships generally have more than one and in most cases several dealerships,” said Mazergroup president Bob Mazer.

Southeast Farm Equipment approached Mazergroup about the deal.

“We were asked to take a look at it by the owners, they proposed the merger and we are just delighted,” Mazer said.

The current owners of Southeast Farm Equipment decided to look into a merger following one of the owners, Ed Peterson, deciding to retire.

In the deal, the other owners, Rus and Corey Plett, will become shareholders with Mazergroup and part of the management team.
