A man has been sent to hospital after a crop dusting plane crashed near a dense wooded area, just northwest of Virden, according to RCMP.

At around 1 p.m., police were called to the RM of Wallace, a mile north of the junction of road 153 west and 67 north, which is north west of Virden. Shortly after, STARS air ambulance was dispatched from Winnipeg for a "scene call emergency" in the Virden area.

A farmer, who lives a few kilometres from the crash site, said he saw near the field where the crash happened earlier in the morning. The plane was believed to have been spraying fungicide in the area.
