Madison Hayden had eight kills and Alison Jones added seven as the host Neelin Spartans defeated the Vincent Massey Vikings 3-0 (25-22,
25-19, 25-17) in a Westman High School Volleyball League varsity girls’ match on Tuesday.
Shayla Heinrichs had six kills and Teagan Mauthe added five for Massey.

In the varsity boys’ match, visiting Massey turned the tables by sweeping Neelin
3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-17).
Jackson Stephens had eight kills and Cole Tokaryk added seven kills and two blocks for the Vikings. Sean Coey led Neelin with six kills, while Lane Tufts had two aces and two kills.
In Virden, the Golden Bears defeated the Crocus Plainsmen in varsity girls’ play but lost in the varsity boys’ match.
Carmen Ross led the Virden girls with 21 kills and two aces, and Jaydean Bell had five kills and seven aces as they won
3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 25-13).
The Plainsmen varsity boys swept their match, winning
3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15).
Ben Janzen had four kills and two blocks, and Brendon Agland contributed five kills and one block for Crocus. Austin Watts had five kills and two blocks for Virden.
