Hey there, time traveller!

Worsening weather conditions in much of southern Manitoba have Hydro crews scrambling to get the ice and hoar frost off power lines and electrical equipment throughout Westman and Parkland.
The ice-clearing operations resulted in power outages in several communities Tuesday, including Neepawa, Minnedosa, Newdale, Sandy Lake, Erickson and Dauphin, as well as throughout the Grandview and Gilbert Plains areas.
Ice removal efforts will continue today — areas most affected include Gilbert Plains, Grandview, Minnedosa, Pilot Mound, Hamiota, Dauphin, Strathclair and Killarney.
The brief power outages allow crews to perform the work as safely and as quickly as possible.
If not removed, the additional weight of ice and frost can cause lines, insulators, cross arms and other hardware to break, resulting in unplanned outages of longer duration.
Manitoba Hydro is warning people that if they see a line down on the ground, consider it “live” and do not go near it. Keep others away from it and call Hydro’s 24-hour toll-free emergency line at 1-888-624-9376.
