Brandon-based NetSet Communications has been sold.

The privately-held telecommunications company was founded in 2001 and was bought out by Xplornet Communications Inc., which is headquartered in Woodstock, New Brunswick.

“This is great news for NetSet’s customers, employees and for the province of Manitoba,” co-founder of NetSet Tami-Rae Rourke said in a release. “Xplornet and NetSet share similar roots and a similar passion for delivering fast, affordable internet services in rural Canada and it is our customers and consumers across the province who will benefit.”
