Hey there, time traveller!

A pair of evening fires in downtown Brandon are being investigated as suspicious.
Fire crews were called to the City Centre Hotel on 10th Street at 9:40 p.m. Saturday night after a fire broke out on the second floor, while at the same time, a call came in for a vehicle fire approximately two blocks away in a parking lot between Eighth and Ninth Streets along Pacific Avenue.
Capt. Don Matthews from Brandon Fire and Emergency Services said there were no injuries.
“Right now, I think just because of the timing and the proximity, OFC (Office of the Fire Commissioner) is investigating them as suspicious,” Matthews said, which is normal, he added, until it can be determined otherwise.
A cost estimate for the damages was not readily available and it is unclear if the two incidents are related or what the cause of the fires may have been.
A spokesperson from the Brandon Police Service said police are investigating with the OFC.
