The Wheat City’s upcoming comic convention announced a bevy of new celebrity guests this week, including actors from Disney’s “Frozen.”
Bran-Con and the Friendly Neighborhood Comic MegaCorp announced Livvy Stubenrauch and Eva Bella, the voices of young Anna and Elsa from the hit animated film will be coming to Brandon.
Stubenrauch’s other roles have included a couple of guest voices on “Adventure Time” and has a new movie called “The Downside of Bliss” coming out this December.
Bella is also known for playing Shimmer on the Nickelodeon show “Shimmer and Shine” and has also appeared on “Mad Men” and “Family Guy.”
Also announced this week is actress Kat Cressida. Those who have been to Disney theme parks might recognize her as the voice of the Haunted Mansion and the Black Widow Bride character. She’s also known for voicing Dee Dee in “Dexter’s Laboratory” and has done many video game voice roles in games such as Fallout 4 and World of Warcraft.
“We’re really expecting to see a good appeal to our family-friendly (audience),” said Bran-Con guest experience director Brandon Forsyth.
Earlier this month, Regina-born actor Cas Anvar was revealed as a guest. Anvar currently stars as Martian fighter pilot Alex Kamal in the science fiction TV show “The Expanse.” He’s also appeared on 10 episodes of “The Strain” and voiced Altair in “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.”
It was announced on Wednesday that independent comic publisher AfterShock Comics will be appearing at the convention. AfterShock publishes a variety of titles such as “Alters,” “Unholy Grail” and “Captain Kid,” where a middle-aged man is able to transform into a teenage superhero.
Escapologist Dean Gunnarson has also been announced. He’ll be thrilling audiences with escape artistry and magic shows.
The convention is still looking for volunteers according to Forsyth. Volunteers that give at least four hours of their time will be given free admission to the show.
Those interested in volunteering can sign up online at bran-con.com.
Fordyce also said that there are still weekend and individual day tickets available for purchase. They can be bought online or in person at the Friendly Neighborhood Comic Shop.
More announcements are expected as the October dates for the convention get closer.
