RIVERS — Despite the heat, nearly 30 Rivers Collegiate Institute graduates kept their cool as they received their diplomas and awards during a nearly two-hour-long ceremony Friday on a stage behind the school as families and friends watched from their vehicles before being allowed up to snap photos of their proud grads.

Following the ceremony, the grads stopped outside Riverdale Personal Care Home before heading back to the school to begin their parade through downtown Rivers, escorted by police and emergency vehicles.
