A number of Manitobans will receive another cheque from Manitoba Public Insurance, after the Crown corporation determined that not everyone got the correct amount for their recent rebates.

Earlier this year, MPI announced that it would be refunding policyholders approximately $110 million as of COVID-19 relief measure after the pandemic led to lower than expected numbers of claims.
Customers received a rebate worth 11 per cent of their policy, totalling between $140 and $160 for most people.
However, MPI spokesperson Brian Smiley told the Sun on Monday that some customers and Autopac dealers raised concerns about not receiving a correct amount, prompting a system review.
That review concluded that approximately 9,600 policyholders did not receive the correct amount due to computer error and will be receiving a second cheque to make up the difference.
To qualify in the first place, the rebate amount needed to be greater than $10. With the corrected amounts, some people will now have crossed that threshold and will be receiving a cheque for the first time.
Approximately $253,000 in cheques was sent out through Canada Post last week, Smiley said.
