Hey there, time traveller!

Public health officials revealed on Saturday that a healthcare worker from Brandon’s Hillcrest Place personal care home has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a Saturday afternoon news release, the individual in question is self-isolating and all their close contacts have been notified, including family members and fellow staff.
While the overall risk of transmission is low, the province said Hillcrest has still initiated outbreak protocols and is putting additional measures in place to further reduce the risk to residents and staff.
The site is also moving to threat-level red, known as “critical,” on the province’s new Pandemic Response System, which means visitations will be restricted as well.
The Hillcrest employee was not included in Saturday’s COVID numbers, which includes 31 new cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region and 55 new cases in Manitoba overall.
This news about Hillcrest comes two days after PMH announced that a healthcare worker from the Rideau Park Personal Care Home in Brandon also tested positive for the virus.
The Bethesda Place care home in Steinbach also declared an outbreak on Aug. 17. To date, eight people at that site have tested positive for COVID-19, including three residents — two of whom died this week.
Otherwise, the province announced on Saturday that there are now 444 active cases in the province.
Public health officials went on to say that 19 of the 55 new cases announced on Saturday are close contacts of previously-announced cases.
This update marks the second-highest single-day increase of coronavirus cases in Manitoba outside of the 72 new cases announced on Aug. 23.
The current five-day test positivity rate is 2.6 per cent and 693 people have recovered from the virus.
Manitoba’s COVID-19 related death still sits at 14 people.
The number of hospitalizations will be updated tomorrow.
