The Manitoba Progressive Conservative Caucus announced on Friday morning the Dauphin MLA Brad Michaleski is taking an extended, doctor-recommended medical leave and will not be present for the remainder of the fall legislative session.
Friday’s news release from the PCs specified that this medical leave is not related to COVID-19.
Michaleski’s constituency office will remain open to serve the people of Dauphin. However, his family has asked for privacy at this time and will not provide any further comment.
Michaleski was elected to his first term as an MLA for Dauphin on April 19, 2016, replacing NDP representative Stan Struthers.
Before branching out into provincial politics, Michaleski served two terms as a municipal councillor for the Rural Municipality of Dauphin between 2002 and 2010.
According to his profile on the Manitoba PC Caucus website, Michaleski continues to live on the family farm near Dauphin alongside his wife Lori.
