Alberta RCMP searching for man

Alberta RCMP are searching for a man allegedly involved in two stabbings who may be travelling to Winnipeg.

At approximately 6:15 a.m. on Sunday, Okotoks RCMP, south of Calgary, responded to a report of a double stabbing at a campground. According to a police press release, officers found a man and a woman had been stabbed multiple times.

Both victims were transported to hospital in stable conditions.

Police say Ryan Cameron Bain, 38, of Calgary, allegedly fled the scene. Bain is currently wanted for two counts of attempted murder, along with other offences.

Bain is described as having light skin, six-foot-two and weighs 194 pounds. Police say he has brown hair and brown eyes.

He could be on the way to Winnipeg, police say.

Woman charged in stabbing

Police arrested a woman on Sunday after an alleged stabbing sent a man to hospital.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 300 block of 11th Street. Two people left before officers arrived, police say.

A 64-year-old man was transported to hospital with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” according to police. The victim and accused knew each other.

Police arrested a 41-year-old woman at 6:50 p.m. She was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. She was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police are still investigating.

Police investigating stabbing

Police are investigating a possible early Monday morning stabbing.

A 19-year-old woman was reportedly assaulted near the intersection of 26th Street and Willowdale Crescent at approximately 4 a.m., according to police. She was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say up to three people may have been involved in the assault.

Police say the Sunday afternoon and Monday morning stabbings are not believed to be related.

Man arrested for drug trafficking

A man was arrested for drug trafficking on Sunday after a call to police about him painting his fridge.

Police first received a call about a strong chemical smell coming from an apartment. The smell, according to police, came from the tenant painting his fridge.

When police were there they reportedly learned the 28-year-old man had a warrant for his arrest. Officers allegedly found him with meth, cocaine and packaging material.

He was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
