Applications for community grants are now open, the Brandon Area Community Foundation announced in a media release Monday.

The grants are available to charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency.

“The Foundation’s role is helping create strong communities in southwestern Manitoba. We can do that through our granting process,” BACF executive director Laura Kempthorne stated in the release.

Kempthorne encouraged prospective applicants to contact the organization with any questions about the process.

“We also are always excited to hear from potential donors to discuss giving options that may fit into some of our funding opportunities.”

Last year, the BACF reported it distributed more than $900,000 in grants across Westman.

For more information, visit bacf.ca. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Sept. 29.
