Upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics
Prairie Mountain Health is hosting COVID-19 vaccine clinics next week for ages six months old and up for first, second, third and fourth doses if eligible.
Clinics running from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 will offer the Moderna bivalent vaccine to anyone aged 18 years and up.
All clinics will have walk-in and booked appointments, or walk-in only as indicated.
- Erikson — Southquill Food Bank (46 Main St., walk-in only): Oct. 5, from noon to 3 p.m.
- Brandon — Shoppers Mall near Smitty’s (1570 18th St.): Oct. 6, from noon to 5 p.m.
- Hamiota — Community Centre (39 Fourth St.): Oct. 6, from 2 to 6 p.m.
For the Moderna bivalent vaccine, a six-month waiting period is recommended, from the last vaccine dose or COVID infection. However, those at higher risk of severe illness can get a shot three months after a vaccine dose or infection.
Children between the ages of five to 11 can receive a booster dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. A minimum six-month interval between the last dose and the booster dose is recommended. Health officials also recommend that children who are eligible to get a booster dose but were recently infected with COVID should wait three months to get a booster dose.
Those who are immunocompromised should check eligibility criteria at gov.mb.ca/covid19/vaccine/eligibility-criteria.html#third. Remember to bring your consent form to your appointment.
Appointments can be booked by phone daily, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. by calling 1-844-626-8222.
