The Brandon Santa Parade returned to the city’s downtown core on Saturday evening, following a multi-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The parade, which began at the corner of Sixth Street and Rosser Avenue, was met with large crowds of Brandonites lines up along city streets to catch a glimpse of old St. Nick. A light snow that fell that evening accentuated the warm holiday feelings that mark the official herald of the Christmas season.

Brandon Sun reporter Kyle Darbyson was in attendance with his camera. Here’s a little of what he saw behind his lens.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus ride down Rosser Avenue during the 2022 Brandon Santa Parade. The parade is at risk of ending after the longtime organizers announced this would be their last year and couldn't find anyone to take their place. Some have since expressed interest in taking the reigns, and it's just one example of the many activities run in Westman thanks to volunteers. (File)
