Assiniboine Community College has named a portion of its halls after a longtime supporter and his company.
The name is that of Mazergroup president and CEO Bob Mazer, who noted the company has a long history of partnering with the college.
“We wanted to step up to the plate and do something that, I guess, would show that we are in support of ACC and will continue to be well into the future,” Mazer said during a gathering at the college’s North Hill campus Thursday to celebrate a recent large donation from the company and the naming of a portion of the college after Mazergroup.

Student space in the Len Evans Centre for Trades and Technology at ACC’s North Hill campus is now officially named Mazergroup Main Street in honour of Mazergroup’s $500,000 donation to the college. The space is a common area where students connect, relax and converse in their free time.
Mazergroup is a family of machinery dealerships that offers agricultural, construction, and commercial turf equipment, sales, parts and service. There are 18 locations in Manitoba and southern Saskatchewan, and it is the largest New Holland dealership group in Canada.
The college said Mazer has been a longtime supporter of its trades programs and has provided an entrance award each year for students in the Agriculture Equipment Technician and Heavy Duty Technician programs. He regularly loans the programs equipment for hands-on learning.
In the fall of 2021, Mazergroup made a $500,000 donation to the formation of the college’s Prairie Innovation Centre for Sustainable Agriculture, which will expand the college’s delivery of agriculture-related programs and is to be located at the North Hill campus. Mazer is also a past chairperson of the college’s board of governors and a recipient of an honorary diploma from ACC.
“He’s been a solid supporter of the college,” ACC president Mark Frison told the gathering.
