PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – The father of a man who was beaten to death in 2016 is now accused of killing the person charged in his son’s killing.
Reginald Durocher is the father of Christopher Durocher, who died from multiple blows to his head in late in 2016 in an RV at Christopher Lake, Sask., about 175 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
RCMP previously charged Ryan David Clark in Christopher Durocher’s death and he was found guilty of second-degree murder.
Clark appealed and the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal upheld his conviction, but the decision wasn’t unanimous.
A dissenting vote allowed for the case to go to the Supreme Court, which overturned the verdict and ordered a new trial.
Clark was killed Tuesday, a little more than a month before his next court date for a pre-trial conference.
Police say he was hit by a pickup truck, which was captured on nearby store surveillance cameras.
