Thousands of country music fans have flocked to Dauphin this weekend to take in Canada’s longest running music festival.
Dauphin’s Countryfest, which takes place on festival grounds just north of Riding Mountain National Park, began back in 1990, and has been a popular kickoff for Manitoba’s summer break ever since.
Friday’s hot and sunny weather prompted festival goers to find ways to cool off in the heat of the day, before giving way to an impressive lineup of country music artists.
Here’s a selection of images by Brandon Sun photographer Tim Smith, who spent the first day of the three-day festival with his camera in tow.
