Hey there, time traveller!

The sale of The Town Centre mall was completed earlier this month for nearly $4 million, according to documents obtained by the Sun.
The land title for the property the mall sits on, 800 Rosser Ave., was transferred from the previous owners to 10163858 Manitoba Ltd. on July 6, 2023 for a consideration worth $3,963,750.
A search of Manitoba’s Companies Online registry shows that company was created in early May of this year. Its president is listed as Parbjot Brar of Winnipeg, who is also known by the nickname J.B.

Its shares are owned by two more numbered companies, 10148999 Manitoba Ltd. and 7359773 Manitoba Limited. The first company is owned by Brar and the second by another person named Jagtar Singh Gill.
The Sun has thus far been unable to reach Brar or Gill for comment.
In April, the Sun reported that previous owner Bob Mazer of Mazergroup was hoping to have the deal completed by May 15 after the building had been listed for sale for several years.
Mazer and a pair of business partners had owned the mall since 2000.
Public disclosure of the sale was first made when former Brandon Police Service Chief Wayne Balcaen spoke at a Brandon City Council meeting on April 3 on a proposal to withdraw $25,000 from the city’s protective services reserve to establish a satellite police office at the mall.
Previously, parties involved with the sale had not disclosed the buyer’s identity. However, Mazer noted to the Sun at the time that the buyer was from Winnipeg and had previous success repurposing properties.
The Sun called Mazer’s office on Wednesday and was told he was out for the day.
Reached by phone, Brandon Mayor Jeff Fawcett said he has had one conversation with the new ownership, which took place earlier in the year.
“It was a brief conversation,” he said. “There’s lots of optimism. Sounds like he’s purchased with a purpose, but it’s his business to run. I think he spoke with our planning department, so he knows what the city is looking at in that area, and I think they’re matching up good.”
