Man wanted following accidental shooting
The Manitoba First Nations Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating Shane Chad Woods, who is wanted on multiple offences following an accidental shooting that took place at Long Plain First Nation last week.
MFNPS officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Split Rock Trail on Wednesday, eventually discovering a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

After stating that the shooting was accidental, the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for further medical assistance.
She is currently in stable condition.
Based on their investigation, MFNPS have issued an arrest warrant for Woods.
He is being charged with: criminal negligence causing bodily harm, discharging a firearm while being reckless, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized and unsafe storage of firearms.

Arrested for violating curfew
A 38-year-old man is headed back to court after Brandon police caught him allegedly violating his curfew and possessing stolen property early Sunday morning.
At around 3:30 a.m., police conducted a pedestrian check in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue, since they knew the suspect is bound by a daily curfew that runs between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
During a search of the accused, police discovered a stolen piece of identification alongside two knives.
A second condition of his current release is that he does not possess any weapons.
As a result, the 38-year-old was arrested for failing to comply with his release, as well as the possession of stolen property.
Man charged with choking officer
A 21-year-old man faces assault charges after he allegedly attacked and attempted to choke a police officer on Friday.
This incident took place after officers attended a residence in the 1100 block of Russell Street and tried to speak with the suspect.
The 21-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 30, since he is being charged with assaulting a peace officer and assault by choking.
Domestic disturbance results in arrest
Brandon police arrested a 23-year-old man Saturday evening after being called to a domestic disturbance in a residence located in the 1600 block of Victoria Avenue East.
After arriving at the scene, officers located a woman who stated that her boyfriend had struck her in the head and back several times.
Police located the suspect at the home and arrested him for assault.
He has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27.
