A Canadian comedy show scheduled to hit Brandon in November will help raise funds for Habitat for Humanity.
The fifth annual Big Daddy Tazz and Friends comedy show is planned for Nov. 5 at the Keystone Centre Amphitheatre.
Helping to organize the charity aspect of the show is Ryan Pandolfi, manager of Brandon’s ReStore, which accepts and resells donations of used furniture, appliances and home improvement building materials.

Profits from the ReStore support the Wheat City’s Habitat for Humanity, and so will the money raised from the comedy show, said Pandolfi.
“I’ve known Big Daddy Tazz for about 10 years now, and this is the fifth big show we’ve had in Brandon. In all four of our previous shows, each one of them has sold out. One hundred per cent of the net proceeds are going to support Brandon’s Habitat chapter, so, we are really excited,” Pandolfi said.
Big Daddy Tazz is known as the “Bi-Polar Buddha,” as he is equal parts comedian and mental health advocate who likes to enlighten, educate and inspire, according to his website.
“Even though all the proceeds will support Habitat, we’re trying to put across is that it’s for mental health awareness as well because everybody goes through mental health struggles. And we pride ourselves on is the fact that we’re going to bring about 500 people together, and we’re all just going to forget about our struggles for a day, because laughter is medicine, right? Everyone needs a laugh,” Pandolfi said.
The other Canadian comedians joining Big Daddy Tazz are Derek Seguin and Nelson Mayer.
Montreal-based Seguin has performed at the Just for Laughs Festival 11 times. His latest album was nominated for a Juno in 2021, and in 2015 was named Sirius XM’s Canada’s Top Comic.
Mayer is host of the show “Got Identity” on APTN, the national Indigenous television network. He has appeared at comedy festivals in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay and most recently was named Best of the Fest 2023 at the Los Angeles international comedy festival.
The Nov. 5 show is an alcohol-free event, for those aged 16 years and older.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, the Keystone Centre box office or by calling Pandolfi at 204-717-0770.
