Brandon firefighters responded to the scene of a large fire in the 100 block of 12th Street, just north of Princess Avenue this morning.
The building was entirely engulfed in flames, as emergency crews attempted to contain the fire to the one structure. The structure was completely destroyed, and has since collapsed in upon itself.
The Sun has learned that the building housed both the ABC Taxi company, and The Turning Leaf, a non-profit organization that offers support services for marginalized people. The Winnipeg-based organization opened its Brandon location in the fall of 2022.
Brandon Police are asking that residents avoid the region if possible as vehicle and foot traffic have been rerouted.
In a post issued this morning on X, formerly Twitter, BPS says an update will be provided later in the day. A Sun reporter who was on scene was told that no one was hurt in the fire.
