Hey there, time traveller!

Little Chief’s Place, located at 2025 Lyndale Dr in Brandon, now has new owners, Akash and Ashwini Patel.
The couple told the Sun that they bought the business from Yomi Osinami, also known as Jim. While they didn’t disclose the amount they paid, they said the property, encompassing 4,600 square feet, holds an estimated value of $900,000.“Jim operated Little Chief’s Place for about 26 years,” Ashwini said. “The establishment features a Tempo gas station, a convenience store, a Laundromat, and a U-Haul agency.”
The Patels, who arrived in Canada in 2013 and settled in Ontario, embarked on their journey in Brandon in 2014, finding work at various establishments before venturing into business ownership.

“We fell in love with Brandon; it’s cozy and convenient,” Ashwini Patel said. “You can find everything within arm’s reach.”
Their transition into business ownership, she said, began when they purchased Coffee Culture (Brandon) in September 2018. Their recent acquisition of Little Chief’s Place, taking effect on Nov. 2, marks a new chapter for the entrepreneurs.
The Patels shared insights into their new business venture, noting the challenges in securing financing for the acquisition. “The banking system posed challenges, but thankfully, we managed to navigate through it,” Akash Patel said.
Discussing their vision for the business, the Patels expressed a commitment to maintaining continuity.
“We aim to keep the standards and essence that the previous owners, Jim and Bonnie, established. There’ll be no compromise in quality,” affirmed Ashwini Patel. They assured customers of an unchanged loyalty program, pricing, and overall experience.
Akash Patel explained that they are considering the addition of a car wash, a long-envisioned dream for the property, adding that the motive is to continue the legacy of a well-established business and provide enhanced services to the community.
Emphasizing the significance of this initiative, he added that the proposed car wash is viewed as a progressive step, particularly in catering to the community’s needs, especially on the south end where such facilities are limited.
“We aim to offer both touchless and manual options,” he said.
As they settle into their role, the Patels remain optimistic about the future. Akash said, “We foresee growth potential and aim to leverage our family’s expertise in convenience stores and gas stations to optimize operations.”
