The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba has recruited some talent from down the highway to headline its annual president’s dinner in February.

Juno Award-winning Westbourne group Doc Walker will bring their country stylings to the Victoria Inn on Thursday, Feb. 22.

The group is comprised of Chris Thorsteinson and Mark Wasyliw, who have also earned 14 Canadian Country Music Association Awards, 21 top-10 country radio singles and eight No. 1 music videos.

We can’t wait to show the fans (in Brandon) what we’ve been up to,” Wasyliw said in a media release.

The dinner is one of the exhibition’s largest annual events, with the others being the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, the Manitoba Summer Fair and Manitoba Ag Ex. On top of supporting the agriculture industry, it provides those working in the sector to gather and socialize.

“We’re so excited to have Doc Walker highlighting the dinner this year,” dinner chair Greg Crisanti said in the media release. “In addition to an excellent dinner, auction, and prizes, this year’s event promises to be one of the best ever … hope to see a great crowd out for a fantastic evening.”

Tickets are $120 each or $960 for a table of eight, plus GST. They can be reserved by calling the exhibition’s office at 204-726-3590.
