MAN ATTACKED WITH MACHETE
Brandon police are looking for suspects after a 43-year-old Brandon man was attacked with a machete.
Police responded to the robbery on Friday at 3:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Brock Avenue.
They believe three suspects, each thought to be male, demanded alcohol the victim was carrying. When he refused to hand it over, one of the suspects stuck the man with the machete before the robbers fled the scene. The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
WOMAN ARRESTED FOR STABBING
A woman accused of stabbing another was arrested and held in custody over the weekend.
Brandon police say the stabbing happened Friday evening on the 200 bock of Ninth Street. The 21-year-old victim suffered minor injuries that were treated at the scene. The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. She attended court Saturday morning and was remanded into custody.
TAXI PASSENGER WAS WANTED
Police report that they pulled over a taxi on Saturday around 11 p.m. A 22-year-old Brandon man, who was a passenger, was wanted on charges of assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest. He was arrested and held in custody pending a court appearance on the weekend. Police didn’t mention why they had stopped the cab in the first place.
DOOR KNOCKER NOT MEANT TO BE HERE
Brandon police report that on Sunday at 3:32 a.m. the responded to a call of a man banging on doors in the area of the 400 block of Richmond Ave. Police located a 40 year-old man from Saskatchewan who was found to be on a release order not to attend Brandon and on a daily curfew. He was arrested and expected to make a court appearance on the weekend.
