COPS FIND COCAINE AND CASH
Cocaine and methamphetamine were found in a vehicle, while Brandon police officers conducted a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
Officers say at 5:28 a.m. Saturday, they stopped a vehicle east of Brandon on the Trans-Canada Highway and discovered three ounces of cocaine, a small quantity of meth, and $10,000 in cash.
A 30-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.
They were both released, with a future date in court.
Stolen credit card and meth found
METH, STOLEN CARD BRING CHARGES
After Brandon police officers stopped a vehicle Saturday afternoon, they charged a 40-year-old woman with drug trafficking charges, and a 39-year-old man with credit card theft.
At 2:38 p.m. a vehicle was pulled over in the 900 block of 18 St. North.
Police say the 40-year-old woman had 14 grams of meth, various pills, and cash. She also had an outstanding warrant for failing to obey previous conditions that she was to follow, according to police.
The 39-year-old male had a stolen credit card and a small quantity of meth, police said.
The woman was charged with numerous offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of undertaking and was held in custody for a future court date.
Police charged the man with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen credit card. He was released with a future date in court.
MAN ACCUSED OF ASSAULT
At 3:25 Saturday afternoon, officers were called to a disturbance on Willowdale Crescent in Brandon’s west end. Once on scene, police allege, they learned a 31-year-old man had assaulted a female inside the residence.
The man was intoxicated, according to police. They charged him with assault and held him at the Brandon police station until sober. He has a future court date.
MAN REFUSES TO LEAVE BUSINESS
A man causing a disturbance at a business in the city’s downtown, was charged with assault, according to police.
On Saturday at 6:18 p.m., officers say they responded to the 200 block of Eighth Street, for a complaint of a man who refused to leave a business and assaulted a staff member.
A 36-year-old man was arrested, charged with assault and was found to be in possession of a stolen cell phone.
He was later released on a promise to appear in court, at a later date.
