An 18-year-old Brandon man is facing numerous robbery charges after being arrested in connection with break-ins to businesses in Neepawa and Sprucewoods earlier this month.
On Feb. 20, officers arrested Nicholas Genaille at a home in Brandon, where police also allegedly found stolen items. He is facing multiple charges, including robbery, break and enter, disguise with intent, possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime.
On Feb. 8, Spruce Plains RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business located on Main Street in Neepawa. Officers responded and were advised that two men, both wearing masks and holding knives, forced their way into the store and threatened the employee.
The two suspects fled the scene with some cash.
While officers were on patrol in search of the suspects, they received a report that another victim in Neepawa had just been robbed by two suspects at knifepoint. There were no injuries. Police were unable to locate the suspects.
A few days later, on Feb. 13, Blue Hills RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a business in Sprucewoods.
Two men, both wearing face masks, were captured on surveillance cameras entering a business and stealing more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from the store.
The two suspects were later identified, and police obtained a search warrant for a home in Neepawa. During the search they found stolen items, a face mask and a knife.
Officers then went to a home in the Rural Municipality of Cornwallis, where a 17-year-old was arrested. He will appear in court in Minnedosa on March 19. He is facing numerous charges including robbery, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime.
Genaille will also appear in Minnedosa court on March 19.
