The Brandon School Division has cancelled bus service for rural schools today as another heavy snowstorm hit Westman.

“Due to rapidly deteriorating conditions, Brandon School Division buses will not be operating outside the City of Brandon for the afternoon of Wednesday, March 6,” BSD transportation supervisor Ron Harkness said in an email to media and parents.

“Please call your child’s school to arrange for pickup or billeting.”

Harkness added that buses will be running within Brandon, but the weather might cause delays.

A decision has yet to be made on whether rural schools will be open on Thursday or if buses will be running.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is currently forecasting the weather to dump 10 to 20 centimeters of snow on Brandon on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Last Sunday’s blizzard dropped 29 cm of snow.
