Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
An 18-year-old was arrested Sunday night after allegedly racing a car on 18th Street.
Around 10 p.m., police saw a vehicle driving erratically in the 1400 block of 18th Street. Police put their flashers on, but the vehicle did not stop. While it travelled south down the road, it blew through two red lights on its way out of town.
The vehicle hit the ditch at the corner of 18th Street and the Eastern Access Route. No injuries were reported, and police say that alcohol was not a factor.
The 18-year-old was arrested for dangerous driving and flight from police. He will appear in court on June 17.
Entered business with kitchen knife
A 26-year-old man was arrested after allegedly carrying a large kitchen knife into a Middelton Avenue business Sunday night.
Around 9:53 p.m., police received a call from an employee of a business on the 1800 block of Middelton Avenue, who reported that an intoxicated man entered the business to use the washroom and was carrying a large kitchen knife.
Officers arrested the man, who was also charged for breaching his probation by carrying the weapon.
Possession of break-in tools
A 28-year-old man was arrested after allegedly going through residents’ yards in the 100 block of 14th and 15th atreets Sunday morning. Police say that he was found in possession of stolen cheques from a business and break-in tools.
He will appear in court on June 17.
Theft under $5,000
Police arrested a 53-year-old woman on Sunday for allegedly stealing a wallet in a Brandon store last month.
On March 30, a business on the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue reported that a customer had left their wallet at the till and the woman had allegedly picked it up and left the store.
She will appear in court on June 17.
Mischief under $5,000
A 48-year-old man was arrested after allegedly breaking a window at a building on the 1900 block of First Street on Sunday. He was also the subject of an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
