Dauphin RCMP make arrest in electronics theft
Dauphin RCMP arrested three suspects and are searching for a fourth after $12,000 worth of electronics were stolen from a business on Main Street in Dauphin on Wednesday.
Around 2:30 p.m., Mounties received a call about a theft at a Main Street business. The caller said two unknown men stole a number of electronics then fled in a black SUV.
A third man was identified by witnesses and was later picked up by the suspects in the SUV.
Officers located the SUV in Riding Mountain National Park. With the assistance of Yellowhead RCMP, they conducted a traffic stop. All three were arrested.
Florin Chelu, 34, Remus Ion, 32, and Vasile Mazarche, 49, all face charges for theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
Mounties said Friday they continue to look for a fourth male suspect who they believe is travelling back to Ontario in a 2011 black Chevy Equinox with Ontario licence plate DAVB 271.
Investigators are looking into possible connections between these suspects and thefts in other provinces, RCMP say.
RCMP is also asking anyone with information on the fourth suspect or this theft to call Dauphin RCMP at 204-622-5020.
Security guard punched in the face

The man had been banned from the business and allegedly assaulted the security guard who asked him to leave.
Pair accused of shoplifting
A 37-year-old woman and 18-year-old woman were arrested on Thursday for allegedly shoplifting from a business on the 900 block of Victoria Avenue.
The pair split up, but police apprehended them in the area. They allegedly had a total of $178 in merchandise from the business, which was returned.
Both women were arrested for theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on June 27.
Theft under $5,000
A 26-year-old was arrested after allegedly stealing a sweatshirt and backpack from a First Street store on Thursday.
The man was on a court order not to be in the business and was charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.
Police say he had just been released from custody a few hours earlier for an alleged theft from another business.
