Manitoba Municipal Administrators are holding their first-ever leadership summit today at the Keystone Centre, and they have a special guest visiting the Wheat City.
Lt.-Gov. Anita Neville is scheduled to be the first speaker of the day, opening the event and making what organizers are calling a “special announcement.”
According to a media release issued by MMA earlier this week, 150 members representing municipalities from across the province will be in attendance at the event, officially titled “Empowering Municipal Administrators for Tomorrow.”
Besides Neville, other guest speakers include the clerk of Manitoba’s executive council, Sara Thiele, municipal podcaster Chris Brown and Red River College Polytechnic computer science professor Enoch A-iyeh.
Brandon city manager Ron Bowles and his Winnipeg counterpart Mike Jack will participate in a panel discussion with Brown.
“We look forward to hosting this leadership summit on an annual basis as we continue to develop new and exciting professional development programs for municipal administrators,” MMA president and Selkirk CAO Duane Nicol said in the release.
