Taylor Swift ticket scam

An 18-year-old Brandonite was charged after allegedly using the promise of Taylor Swift concert tickets to steal money from an individual in Windsor, Ont.

Windsor Police Service forwarded a fraud under $5,000 investigation to their Brandon counterparts earlier this month, as the suspect lived in the Wheat City.

BPS officers interviewed the suspect, who allegedly stole $900 from the victim in Windsor for tickets that were never received by the victim.

The man is due to appear in court on Sept. 23.

Possession of a weapon

A 56-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening after allegedly walking into an Eighth Street business with a knife.

He was located by police and discarded the knife upon police approaching.

He is due to appear in court on Sept. 12.

Theft under $5,000

A 22-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stealing several packages of meat from a Victoria Avenue store on Wednesday.

Police arrived at the store and viewed video footage. They located the suspect, who allegedly also provided them with a false name.

He was charged with theft under $5,000 and public mischief. He is due to appear in court on Sept. 9.

Ten minutes later, police were called again to the same store for another alleged theft.

This time, a 30-year-old man attempted to steal a bag of goods.

Police viewed video footage and later located the man.

He was charged with theft under $5,000 and is due to appear in court on Sept. 23.
