A 40-year-old Brandon man was arrested and charged with child pornography-related offences early Thursday morning.
Brandon Police Service said Friday that officers from the major crimes unit executed a search warrant on a house on the 400 block of Fourth Street at 7:35 a.m. on Thursday.
The warrant was obtained after police received a tip through Cybertip.ca, a website that allows people to anonymously report crimes relating to the sexual exploitation of children.
The suspect was charged with access, possession and distribution of child pornography. He is due to appear in court on Oct. 10.
On top of those charges, the suspect and a 27-year-old man subject to an active arrest warrant, who was found at the same residence while the initial warrant was being executed, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
The latter suspect was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime. He is due to appear in court in Winnipeg on Oct. 9 and in Brandon on Oct. 10.
Police said both drugs and electronic devices were seized from the property to be analyzed.
