Hey there, time traveller!

Brandon City Council on Monday approved a new five-year contract for its enhanced-911 operators represented by the Brandon Professional Firefighter Paramedics Association.
Coun. Shawn Berry (Ward 8) said the deal, which expires on Dec. 31, 2028, contains a two per cent increase on Jan. 1, 2024 and 1.5 per cent increases on Jan. 1 and July 1 each year for 2025-28.
“The parties came together and agreed to a five-year contract, which is great,” Berry said. “We have labour peace for five years with our dispatchers, operators and E911. It’s a very reasonable deal on both parts, I felt.”
According to Berry, the contract contained other minor changes that he did not elaborate on. Council approved the deal unanimously except for Coun. Shaun Cameron (Ward 4), who abstained from voting due to a potential conflict of interest.
