Hey there, time traveller!

A 16-year-old male from Swan River has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 21-year-old Brandon man whose body was found in Swan River’s Legion Park last Friday night.
Another 16-year-old male from Swan River is also expected to be charged, said RCMP Sgt. Paul Manaigre.
“One 16-year-old was arrested on Saturday and charged with second-degree murder and was remanded in custody. The second 16-year-old was arrested today (Monday), and is still with the RCMP in police custody,” said Manaigre.
While Manaigre said he couldn’t say what information led them to the arrest of the two teens and the one second-degree murder charge, he told the Sun: “The victim and the suspects were known to each other, and it came down to witnesses coming forward.”
“We ended up getting video footage, and it shows definitely several involved,” said Manaigre. “It’s just to what extent their involvement is that has to be determined, and then what charges you lay based on that involvement.”
At about 11 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the park with reports of a man who was unresponsive.
When RCMP officers arrived, they said the 21-year-old victim had “obvious” injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP sent out a news release Saturday morning, asking for the public’s help and for witnesses to come forward to help with their homicide investigation.
“A lot of information came forward as a result of the release,” said Manaigre. “So now it’s just a matter of reviewing everything and then confirming what we have as evidence.”
The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges could be laid, Manaigre added.
Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact Swan River RCMP at 204-734-4686 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or online at manitobacrimestoppers.com.
The town of Swan River is about 330 kilometres northwest of Brandon, and Legion Park is a public recreational park on the bank of the Swan River in the northeast part of the community.
