MULTIPLE ARRESTS
Brandon police made multiple arrests on Thursday across the city involving individuals with outstanding or unendorsed arrest warrants. A 37-year-old man was apprehended for breaching his probation, while he was found causing a disturbance at a business located on the 200 block of Eighth Street. The man’s aggressive stance landed him in detention, and police said he will be released for a court appearance once he is calmer.
Officers arrested a 33-year-old man with arrest warrants from the Manitoba First Nations Police, RCMP and Winnipeg police while conducting a routine traffic stop on Thursday afternoon on the 700 block of First Street. He was placed in custody and was slated to appear before a judge on Friday.
A 35-year-old woman walking in the 1300 block of 13th Street was identified as having an unendorsed arrest warrant for theft under $5,000. She was held in detention and attended court on Friday morning.
Police arrested a 40-year-old woman under similar circumstances on Thursday night on the first block of 10th Street. An officer identified her and found she has an unendorsed arrest warrant for charges relating to a failure to attend court and other charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The woman, who was in a sober state was held in detention and appeared in court on Friday morning.
DRUNK MEN ARRESTED
Brandon police made two arrests for men found to be in an inebriated state. On Thursday night, officers received a report about an allegedly intoxicated man in a state of undress in the first block of Princess Avenue.
Another report describing what appeared to be the same man was received from Pacific Avenue and First Street. Upon arrival, officers arrested the man, who was held in detention and released when deemed sober.
An intoxicated man was arrested on the 1500 block of Lorne Avenue early Friday morning. He was held in detention and will be released once sober.
MAN AND WOMAN ARRESTED
In the early hours of Friday morning, Brandon police found a 32-year-old man in the first block of 15th Street while on patrol. The man was found to have an unendorsed arrest warrant relating to charges, such as failure to attend court and breach of probation. He was held in detention and appeared in court on Dec. 20.
Police were informed about an 18-year-old woman trespassing at a property. When officers arrived on the scene, they could not find the woman. She was found later and had an unendorsed arrest warrant on charges of assault with a weapon and breach of probation. After her arrest, she was held in detention and attended court on Friday.
WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER DISTURBANCE
A 33-year-old intoxicated woman was arrested after the police were informed she was causing a disturbance early Friday morning and refused to leave the scene. Upon arrest, she was held in custody and will be released once sober.
