Brandon police made five arrests on Monday night in unrelated incidents on charges under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and to prevent a further breach of peace. The accused were released once sober.
WOMAN ARRESTED

Officers arrested a 41-year-old woman on the 200 block of Ninth Street on Monday night after she was found to have an outstanding warrant for arrest.
MAN ARRESTED FOR VIOLATING RELEASE ORDER
A routine pedestrian check on the 900 block of Victoria Avenue on Monday night resulted in the arrest of the 19-year-old male. He was found to be violating release orders barring him from communicating with the woman accompanying him. The accused was arrested and released later. He is slated to appear in court at a later date.
MEN ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Brandon Police Service (BPS) made two separate arrests on Tuesday on charges of intimate partner violence. In the first instance, officers arrested a 41-year-old man on Tuesday morning at a west-end residence for allegedly kicking and punching his female partner. He also reportedly tried to force her to the ground and choke her. On arrival, police concluded that the woman’s injuries did not require medical attention, following which they located the accused and arrested him. He was released later with a court date.
In the second instance, officers arrested a 29-year-old male, also from a west-end residence, for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend for at least an hour by kicking and punching her. The woman was found and it was deemed she did not require medical attention. Police officers found the accused, who was also found to be violating a previous warrant stemming from a charge of violence against the same woman. He was arrested and held in detention until a court appearance.
MEN ARRESTED FOR VIOLENCE, BREACHING COURT ORDERS
Brandon police made arrests on Tuesday, Wednesday and early morning on Thursday involving three men charged for allegedly causing a disturbance, engaging in domestic violence and for violating a curfew. Officers were called to a north-end residence on Tuesday evening following a report of a 32-year-old intoxicated male causing a disturbance. On arrival, police found that the accused was in violation of two court orders barring him from the residence in question and from contacting the home owner. He was arrested and held for court.
On Christmas evening, police arrested a man from a west-end residence for allegedly assaulting and threatening his partner. On arrival, officers found the victim did not require medical treatment. They found the accused, who was charged on two counts of assault and issuing threats. He was released later with a court date.
An inebriated 24-year-old male causing a disturbance was arrested from an east-end home early on Thursday morning by Brandon police. He was found to be in violation of a curfew order, including an order barring him from consuming alcohol. He was arrested and held in detention, and will be released with a court date once sober.
DRUNK ADULTS ARRESTED
Brandon police said they took three young adults into custody overnight in unrelated incidents involving extreme drunkenness. In all instances, the accused were found, subjected to a medical exam and arrested to prevent any self-inflicted harm. They will be held in detention and released once sober.
